  • Citadel has hired Pawel Serej, who left Elliott in the summer in London team as an Event-Driven Portfolio Manager, with a focus on risk arbitrage, a strategy that involves betting on the successful completion of mergers and acquisitions.

  • Citadel has hired Gregory Hayday from Farallon Capital Management. Hayday has been with Farallon Capital since 2013 and is a managing director. He previously worked at Blackstone and Morgan Stanley.

  • Hudson Bay has hired a three-strong event-driven team from Balyasny Asset Management. London-based portfolio manager Santos Palacios and analyst Fernando Becker joined Balyasny in April 2023, with analyst Marko Lazic joining at the start of last year.

  • Infini Capital has hired Jigar Patel as head of portfolio strategy and head of Middle East. Patel joined from CIBC Private Wealth Management, where he co-founded the firm’s hedge fund alternatives platform.

  • Jain Global has hired Tristan Faber from Point 72. Faber joins in London as Jain Global’s Head of Platform, having spent two years leading the core quantitative platform for Point72’s macro team.

  • Millennium has hired a pair of energy-focused senior portfolio managers as it expands its exposure in the sector. James Kincade rejoined Izzy Englander‘s $72.1bn New York firm in January having left in 2020. Kincade will run his own book focused on energy and industrials equities for the firm. Details around how much money he will run could not be ascertained. Prior to re-joining Millennium, Kincade spent four years as a PM at ExodusPoint similarly focused on energy and industrials strategies.

  • Point72 Asset Management has named Michael Fisher as its new Chief Risk Officer. Fisher joined the New York-based firm from Citadel, where he was Head of Risk for Global Fixed Income and Macro.

  • Point72 Asset Management hired Todd Hirsch from Blackstone, as head of private capital. Hirsch will report directly to Steve Cohen.

  • Rokos Capital has recruited former GAM Systematic investment professionals, Chris Longworth and Joe Devine. Longworth joined as head of macro systematic, while Devine joined as a trading strategist.

  • Rokos had recruited Nekton Capital co-founder Fraser Maingay as an investment officer.

  • Viridian Asset Management has hired Siyu Zhang from Segantii. She joins as a portfolio manager to run relative value and index-related strategies.
